Why nursery schools are bad for little boys - Times Online

In his new book, Raising Babies: Should under 3s go to Nursery, psychologist Steve Biddulph 'warns parents and politicians that we’re in danger of rearing “a colder, sadder, more stressed and aggressive generation of children” and that “quality nursery care for young children doesn’t exist. It is a fantasy of the glossy magazines.”'  In hopes of fixing this situation, the article's author (Sue Palmer, author of the new book 21st Century Boy) contends "we need to reinstate traditional feminine strengths (whether demonstrated by men or women), we have to develop a more collaborative, less judgmental social life around the raising of children."  Spiritual Motherhood*, anyone?

*I still believe the translation of Geistige Mutterlichkeit ought to be 'Intelligent Motherhood', but that is by the by.
